Today the students learned about the prophets Simion and Anna and how they prepared the people for the arrival of Jesus. We also talked about Herod's jealousy and cruelty toward Jewish children as a result of his fear of Jesus. The students, like the Magi, tried to protect Jesus. as they did from Herod, by creating a protective layer of tape and straws for their baby Jesus (represented by an egg). The students got to test their creations and see if they were successful in protecting the baby by dropping the egg. Ava Marth and Catalina did a great job with their contraptions this week! They also got to test their patience and wait to choose a grab bag just like how the people had to wait for the arrival of baby Jesus!

The students created their own angels, talked about what they can do to be kind to others, and played with balloons that represented all of the angels we discussed. 12/26/2018 1 Comment Christmas Eve ServiceDecember 26, 2018 / Leave a Comment This year's Christmas Eve service was beautiful. Thank you very much to those of you who were able to attend either in person or virtually through our live feed of the service. We had many people who helped to prepare for this service, so thank you to our Reverend for a beautiful service, the consistory for their assistance during the service, our Minister of Music and chorus for the music, and to everyone helping others during this Christmas season. Today the students learned all about the story of Mordecai and his wife. His wife was Jewish, and she was able to change his heart about the Jewish people in his land. The kids also continued to make more ornaments for the Christmas tree in the fellowship hall. After the service, they continued to deck the halls with their creations! The kids are also SO excited for next week's movie night (December 15th at 6:30- All are Welcome) and for our special guest that will be here soon! December 9, 2018 / Leave a Comment

They want to thank the Busy Bees for their contribution of delicious food and to everyone who was able to attend. It was a totally FULL HOUSE! Fogelsville and St. John's Lutheran Church in Fogelsville. We enjoyed fellowship and a short service of prayer, the Christmas story, Christmas carols, the lighting of the community tree, and cookies and cocoa! Thank you to those who donated cookies and cocoa and for the pastor from the Lutheran Church who ran the service. Thank you, too, to the Upper Macungie Township and local fire department who allow us to light the community tree and provide lighting and support. We appreciate your commitment to perpetuating this family tradition! December 2, 2018 / Leave a Comment Thank you so much to the Moyer, Mohr, and Sobczak families for coming to the church to help decorate! From 1:00 to 5:00, these individuals decorated the fellowship hall and the sanctuary upstairs for the Christmas Season, and it is looking wonderful! The Sunday School students LOVED helping to decorate our live Christmas Tree today with ornaments that they made themselves! Decorating is a wonderful tradition that we are proud to uphold!
