Today was the joint service with St. John's Lutheran Church for Vacation Bible School! The volunteers, staff, and various directors did an incredible job this week teaching our kids about the Bible stories, songs, and so much more that surrounded the theme of Rolling River Rampage! At today's service, Paddle Captain Bob (with the help of the Otter named Romper) led the congregations and campers in remembering all of the stories, bible verses, and songs from this week! Musical Director Beth led the music for the service, and the students all participated by speaking, singing, and dancing! The whole service ended with an opportunity to refuel with some delicious food and fellowship between the two churches! Thank you, again, to all of our volunteers! We can't wait to see you all again next year!

Today's Memorial Day Service was a joint service with St. John's Lutheran Church and was intended for us to remember all of those who lost their lives fighting for our country. The Lutheran Church's reverend led the service, and our church's organist led the music. We heard "Taps" with the choir, and the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts were present to help the V.F.W. honor our fallen soldiers. The presentation of arms and a gun salute also ended out the service. Thank you to all who made this service possible and to the soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

On Mother's Day, the students had a blast making fun ornaments for their moms! To honor them, we learned about this week's story, but we also talked about what they do for us. Upstairs, we passed out roses to all of the women in the church to show our appreciation for everything they do to make our lives special! Check out these awesome photos of our full house today!

This week, the students learned about Paul and Silas. They made a prison out of a box and had a theme about God's armor and how he provides us with ours. Truth, righteousness, peace, faithfulness, and salvation are all part of that armor. The students added their own ideas such as families, friends, pets, home, the church, etc. They also made chains to symbolize bondage. They had a blast!

Today, the students learned all about Lydia and about how to grow God's love! They continued to brainstorm what grows and ideas for random acts of kindness that they shared on a tablecloth in the fellowship hall. Then, they cut out ideas for kindness and created their own random acts of kindness calendar for May! Each day of the month had ideas for how to be kind, such as helping by cleaning their rooms, running errands, calling a friend, and smiling! The students also created fortune tellers (affectionately nicknamed "cootie catchers") about the characters from the bible story from today! They listened to the story and planted seeds to make beautiful flowers. Some of the flowers will even be purple which was Lydia's favorite color! They did an awesome job today. Special thanks to Catalina, our resident Lydia for wearing our purple jersey and representing the incredible woman from the Bible!

This week was a musical service! Thank you to Kurtis Reif for joining us as our guest performer! He is a senior at Moravian and is about to graduate with a degree in Music Education. He shared his amazing gifts with us today as he performed original songs by singing and playing the mandolin! They were beautiful! Check them out!

This week, the students learned about Paul's conversion to Christianity by following God's footprints on the road to his conversion, playing with a parachute like the tents that Paul used to make, and building and changing structures to illustrate how Paul changed! They also painted crosses and learned about how this man, who was in charge of causing people to be murdered, was able to change and become a saint. They also heard the story and had a blast!
